TOURIST INFORMATION ABOUT BARCELONA

Barcelona is one of the most important tourist destinations in Europe, with millions of people visiting every year. The city is famous for its 19th century modernist architecture. The best known of those buildings was designed by Antonio Gaudi. It is the unfinished church Sagrada Familia, which is the symbol of Barcelona.

Barcelona is also known, as Spain in general, for its Mediterranian food. You may find restaurants with Michelin stars (a bit expensive but very impressive all of them) and cheaper but highly recommended restaurants near Plaça Catalunya, the most central point in Barcelona. Some examples are: Mussol in Casp Street (spanish dishes “tapas”, like “bravas potatoes”), Viena (catalan sandwichs and salads, also coffe and breakfast), La Tagliatella (pasta and pizza)…

In case you could do the interesting walk through the Barcelona’s Rambla from the Plaça Catalunya to the Columbus Monument (which stands near the sea), it is recommend to take a look at «Mercat de la Boqueria» or to have an ice cream at the very famed catalan gelateria Rocambolesc, managed by the internationally recognized Roca brothers.
